  • Job Description and Responsibilities

    We are seeking an experienced compliance professional for the role of Chief Compliance Officer (‘Compliance Director’) of our new Luxembourg office.   The Compliance Director will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s efforts to design and implement policies and procedures designed to comply with the rules and regulations of the CSSF and other regulatory agencies, including the implementation of appropriate controls and surveillance.   The Compliance Director will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s Compliance team.

    The successful candidate will direct operational compliance activity through active leadership and advise the Board of Directors on compliance matters.

    The Compliance Director will also be responsible for overseeing the firm’s anti-money laundering systems and controls, and supervising the implementation of a financial crime programme.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop polices, material and training programmes to educate employees on compliance issues.
    • Implement and oversee the compliance monitoring programme.
    • Implement an appropriate reporting framework.
    • Act as first point of contact for regulators on compliance matters.
    • Craft detailed written instructions for programmers and technology staff to enhance internal controls in response to new regulations or the launching of new business lines
    • Draft and implement firm policies, controls and written supervisory procedures
    • Develop and implement remedial action plans in response to internal and external audit findings
    • Assist with any queries relating to KYC processes to ensure adherence to internal procedures and industry best practice.

    Qualifications

    • 8 - 10 years experience in a Compliance leadership role within a CSSF regulated firm or experience gained in other control functions as auditor or senior risk professional.
    • Fluent in English & French or German, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • A good working knowledge of Fourth Money Laundering Directive.
    • A University degree in accounting, law or finance.
    • Solid knowledge of KYC processes and understanding of the requirements for risk-based approach to on-boarding.
    • Strong analytical skills to use data/metrics for risk monitoring.
    • High degree of comfort and fluency with computers and technology, and understanding of how technology is applied to business and regulatory problems.
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skill
    • Ability to work in a pressurised medium-size office environment.
    • Ability to work flexible hours.
    • Candidates must have a EU passport or a qualifying work permit/residency to work in Luxembourg
