Technical Writer - Contract



Interactive Brokers is looking for a Technical Writer to collaborate with the marketing team as well as software programmers to develop, write and edit user-facing marketing content for print and digital campaigns.

  • Researching and writing technical and end-user documentation for our proprietary software.
  • Producing new marketing documents and updating existing marketing documents.
  • Writing and editing additional documents including but not limited to software release notes, webinar content for customers, how-to videos, and customer emails.
  • Editing and proofing for other Marketing staff as required.
  • Auditing existing documentation.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as a technical writer who has worked with programmers preferred.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to take direction.
  • Concise writing style, excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies, products and processes quickly.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Financial industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be proficient in the following software tools and technologies:
    • Madcap Flare - Required
    • HTML/CSS
    • Microsoft Office
    • Dreamweaver or similar HTML editing software
    • Basic image manipulation
